ā,Itās filled with fraud!ā (No evidence needed.)
The more I interact with MAGA, the clearer it becomes that they have no interest in supporting evidence for thier leadersā claims. Itās not even a consideration.
You need to treat them like a religious sect. When you include the āfaithā in the list of reasons why they do shit, it becomes easy to understand.
They are religious fundamentalists and are to be treated like such. Same way people donāt need proof to believe in their god, magas donāt need it either to believe in trump.
It has both āconsumerā and āprotectionā right there in the name. We canāt have any of that shit. No Iām not joking.
Donāt waste mental energy looking for reason or competence. They did it because nobody can stop them, and they think they can gain money or power by doing it. Thatās always the motivation, and it doesnāt make a difference to the response. We simply need to stop them.
The Republican agenda for over 50 years has been to eliminate federal agencies. Reagan was overwhelmingly elected and he campaigned on closing Carterās recently created department of education.
If itās not explicitly in the constitution, they believe it should be operated by the states or by a corporation. Itās not about āwhy do they want to close itā, itās āwhy should this existā - especially when (they think) a corporation could do it better. Bonus: corporations make money and you can invest in them to make money for yourself.
Generally, the idea is a very small federal government and more sovereignty for each state. Itās easy to misunderstand this when conservatives are also calling for federal restrictions on health and freedoms. Donāt fool yourself to believe thereās consistency in politics.
The world was very different two hundred and fifty years ago. Our lives, commerce, and opinions are no longer impeded by state boundaries. The reason for this country to exist still remains but the context has changed. Anyone holding conservative ideas is, intentionally or not, holding this country back.
Moreover, if you think this administration gives a shit about anyone but themselves and corporations, you my sweet innocent child are truly out of the loop.
Again, going back to Reagan, Americans have been convinced that the government is bad and enriching corporations is good. Trickle down economics is still by and large considered good for workers. You give tax breaks to the billionaires and corporations and, in theory, they can employ more people. Of course we know now that trickle down economics has been a failure and that enriching the poor and middle class is best for the entire economy.
The United States is a failure. It came close but it doesnāt scale. We need a new Constitution and Bill of Rights that more explicitly outlines the responsibility of the federal government and what The People can trust it to do for them. If you want a truly Democratic Republic, we also need to make election day a holiday, fund election campaigns strictly through taxpayer dollars, and implement ranked choice or STAR voting. Footnote - the new constitution would have to explicitly say election campaigns are an exception to any free speech clause because fuck Citizenās United.
āWhat are you going to do about itā
Itās just capitalism reaching itās natural end stage. The only surprising thing is that the 1% doesnāt demand more subtlety, but maybe thatās more of a democrat thing.
MAGA and āJustificationā donāt belong in the same sentence. Do they feel they need a justification forā¦ANYthing? No, they donāt. Itās all about ripping and tearing the fabrics of democracy for sheer self-entitlement and personal gain at the expense of everyone else they donāt like because the Orange Fuhrer duped all of them into believing thatāll he will lower egg prices and bring the country back to being āgreatā again.
From the top levels itās because they want all their business friends to be able to make money hand-over-fist. If you didnāt go to the same ivy leagues or country clubs as this group, you are basically not a person to them.
And for everyone else toward the ground who vote for these people, itās because theyāre incredibly stupid and donāt understand things. You will never, ever persuade them with arguments, facts, reason, or logic. Itās pure gut-check layered on from decades of pure propaganda that tells them if their lives are worse off now, itās because of those <fill in the minority> taking their jobs, or <fill in the foreigner> who hates their āfreedom,ā or <fill in the grassroots activist> who is coming in to try and push for laws that only make the cost of their goods rise.
Yeah but someday I will be a rich country club person. And then people like me better watch their step!
Musk is trying to start another financial institution under the X brand to handle everyoneās money. The CFPB is the one agency thatās likely to prevent it from screwing over anyone dealing with it.
As has been said before, the only reason to shut down the bureau responsible for preventing scams is if you want to scam people yourself.
Itās simple. Consumer watch dogs are bad for exploitive profiteering. Musk is dismantling anyone with any oversight of his companies.
Edit And the reason given for all of it is fraud and bloat, and no evidence supplied and theyāll backtrack on every statement.
Some MAGoo posted that he was fine losing his job if it meant that Trumpās policies were enacted. They are willing to eat a ton of manure if it means a lib has to smell their breath.
I DONāT AGREE WITH MOST OF THE FOLLOWING. what follows is simply my best guess.
Different people are going to have different reasons, the first two are the majority of the voters the rest are for the owner class.
Because holding Rich People Accountable is WOKE DEI SOCIALISM!
You have to remember that one of his main constituents are the Reagan neoliberals and right-wing libertarians, so one of his main promises to these constituents is to reduce government. There is no further justification necessary, he is removing government regulation and bureaucracy, which is seen as a win by his constituents.
Reading between the lines, while some right-wing libertarians will claim the whole government is a problem, the movement is funded by the rich and the political focus is pointed more at destroying regulations on corporations that impede irresponsible and unethical methods of profiteering, like the way the CFPB protects consumers from companies that commit fraud.
Itās part of the federal government. Also itās been investigating Elons companies. These are the only two criteria necessary for firing thousands of workers and collapsing the department.
Because it was Obama so it has to be bad
Thatās as far as the rationale goes
