Sort of broad, but you’ll find more experts working for Governments than at corporations. Corporations can’t or won’t pay top dollar to put experts on the payroll. They might hire one as a consultant if the price is right.

Most experts not involved in Government are self employed or do contract work.

Because you don’t need a cellphone, you want one; it’s convenient, but you don’t need one.

Back in my twenties we never went out, no cellphones, set goals, and did things cheaply.

That’s like asking if you can change the ribbon on a typewriter, it’s 2023, upgrade.

Stunning it doesn’t kill it, it renders it unable to feel pain. They sell the cow brain so no, it doesn’t destroy it. Midwesterners love some cow brain to eat, it’s sold in grocery stores.

The Act requires all meat companies selling to the US government to provide stunning by mechanical, electrical, or chemical means prior to the killing of cattle, calves, horses, mules, sheep, swine, and other livestock, except in the case of slaughter for religious or ritual purposes. Stunning must be accomplished in a manner that is rapid and effective before the animal is shackled, hoisted, thrown, cast, or cut. (While the law refers to “other livestock,” poultry is not specifically included.)

I’ll go with the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy answer and say the cow likely will offer me in person which cuts of meat I prefer. It’s sole purpose in life is to be part of the food cycle. It knows that and it accepts it.

I traditionally never back any lottery but when they break $1 Billion the ROI becomes too high not to toss in a few dollars. I’ve bought only seven lottery tickets in my life and won big on Powerball playing when the jackpot was huge. Playing every week, that is where you get in trouble.

People think Lemmy should be Reddit, but when Treads Federates it will be something very different. I fully expect that Threads users will very quickly subscribe into LW communities and thus we will be something much bigger than reddit ever dreamed.

That is your choice, but your coworkers are getting paid the same and doing a lot less.

Lemmy Car Experts, I have a car that is randomly leaking coolant and need advice (Resolved)
2012 Ford Focus, 155K miles, it is leaking a decent amount of coolant when my partner drives it to work but doesn't even leak a drop if I drive it to work. The mileage is the same but I don't sit in traffic. Could the extra heat from sitting in traffic be opening up a pinhole sized leak in the coolant line? Edit: Thanks to a tip from the comments when the heat is turned on it leaks. I should be able to bypass that line pretty easy. Thanks Kolgeirr@sh.itjust.works
