Utah might be getting a major league baseball team and I couldn’t help but wonder about names. Seems like so many are overused.
Me personally, I like Rabbid Jackalopes (unless they were based in Ogden in which case tweaker seems appropriate), but I’m sure they wouldn’t pick that. What about the rest of Lemmy? What name would get you to cheer?

You could also fit it in easily to the httr fight song lyrics. Commanders is just so generic and boring. Even football team was a better name. Still I’m glad they changed the name.
Sounds like a good name. They have the nationals for baseball, and the capitals for hokey, so I get commanders too. But retail is a sweet name
I’m personally more partial to the Washington Redhogs or the Washington Groundhogs.

I recall a while ago seeing an interview with the consultant who did a bunch of team logo redesigns, and the basic takeaway was that everything needed to be hyper-aggressive stuff that 10-year-old boys would love. I recall it seemed to involve a lot of replacing mascots that used to be inanimate concepts with muscular, aggressive anthromorphic characters (the pre-2005 logo was just the college’s coat of arms, now it’s a pallette swap of someone’s fursona)
Let’s go the completely opposite direction. Let’s rename the New York Jets the New York Kittens and have Sanrio design the logo. White uniform with pink and milk-chocolate brown trim. Little ears on the helmets.

Utah’s MLB team should keep the “ends with Z” theme. They probably couldn’t steal “The Buzz” from the minor league team, so maybe “The Fuzz” or “The Whizz”.
I like those options, at least better than some of the options I’ve read.
Change the LA Lakers to the LA Dams.
I would name the Edmonton Elks the Edmonton Eskimos.
