I miss the specific game subs, like Elden Ring, Satisfactory, Hades, etc. I don’t think we have the population yet to have subs like these with lots of content posted each day.
City subs. My Albuquerque sub on Reddit is very active.
Same with the Ottawa sub. I’ve just been following the Ottawa subreddit by RSS which mostly does the trick
For me it’s all of the academic subs.
We do have a literature community, but I’d also like to see an actual book and audiobooks communities. Maybe e-readers community too.
HiFi Audio, headphones, budget audiophile, etc would be cool to.

Beauty communities seem conspicuously absent for topics that have a large internet presence elsewhere. Makeup, skincare, hair, nail art, etc. I specifically miss the asian beauty sub.
We have a few general cooking/food communities that are nice and active, but I miss more specific things like ask culinary, chef knives, and communities geared toward dietary restrictions.
City and region-specific forums.
Arduino and embedded i miss seeing everyone’s cool projects.
Niche porn subs. I like breast expansion and captions, and cyoas, and all that. Can’t find it here yet.
Really? I spent like 10 minutes the other day just blocking porn subs. Seemed like they had a lot of niche. Not only niche but there was a quiche porn sub as well.
Theres a difference between subs for specific women and niche porn.
Also block the user madness. Hes responsible for like 90% of that bullshit.

This. None of the major automotive subs that I subscribed to on the old site even participated in the blackout.
Yes! Best I can do is change a flat, but I grew up with a dad and brother that liked to tinker and that sub cracked me up.
Anything revolving around collecting more obscure items. I was pretty invested in pens and mechanical pencils on Reddit…even though I don’t collect either. There was just something super satisfying about seeing all different types of pens / pencils and learning about them.
Also miss having a trumpet community! Hopefully one will eventually spring up and become active!
Horror and horror literature. Seattle (not SeattleWA–that had become a cesspool of far right people who don’t even live in Seattle).
Edit: On A related note, anybody interested should subscribe to m/horrorliterature and help get us going!
