I don’t. I even removed analytics from my website which doesn’t even have comments. It doesn’t give me satisfaction at all.

Upvotes, it seems so random what gets upvoted anyway so most of the time it’s not because of the quality of my post.

Comments, yes that one I like because I get to see other peoples view on the topic which I’m interested in.

A friend of mine has a full body traditional tatoo. A lot of people ask him what if he regrets it when he gets older? His answer is that if the tatoo is the one thing he regrets the most of all the decisions he made in his life then that would mean that he must have lived a pretty awesome life.

The main thing of the article is:

None of the targets of the campaign are government entities

For a smaller instance I would always go with PieFed, it’s much much easier to set up and to maintain, uses way less resources and has basically the same feature set.

Resources:

  • small VPS like the smallest from Hetzner for example
  • Linux installed on it
  • Postgresql database
  • Python 3 and pip installed
  • domain to point to that server
  • letsencrypt certificate to run it with https which is necessary to federate

I think that should be it.

We have access to them from work, perhaps I can use that.

Oh, wow, I didn’t realize that would be so much fun! And it’s somehow faster than the ones online too, and you can really do a lot with all the different models you can download!

Hm didn’t think of that but I guess it could be build in to my videos to make them more entertaining to watch

Hm, never heard of ComfyUI, will check it out!

Blender sounds very cool but also very intimidating ^^

What interesting can I do with a dedicated GPU?
For the first time in my life I own a PC with a reasonable powerful dedicated graphics card. It's the Nvidia RTX 3060 with 12GB VRAM. I know it's older and so on but before that I only had laptops and integrated GPUs which were not very powerful. I bought it specifically to edit videos and it works very well for it. But I edit videos perhaps once a month and the rest of the time the GPU is practically idling. What I found is that I can run up to 14b big LLMs on it, so I set it up and am using it for that too, and it's really a lot of fun which I didn't quite expect. And therefore I'm wondering what other fun things I could do with this graphics card, any tips? Gaming is not very entertaining to me, I do it even more seldom than video editing, so I'm looking for other things.

This is what I expect of happening of the whole AI industry.similar to what happened to BigData or Web3.

Yes. My dad tried to tech me but he was not patient enough so he showed me some things and then just left me in the water to go sunbathing himself. But somehow this seemed enough so I kept at it and could swim a bit, then over the years always a little better and so on. Still today my technique is quite bad but I can swim forever, just not as fast as other people.

Central heating and ventilation technician, that was my first one, it was awesome, learned welding and stuu like that. But during the winter I couldn’t do it, every time so freaking cold.

Then I was a Rubber mixer for the aufomobile industry, which destroyed my sense of smell to a high degree so I switched again.

Next was frontend developer, then iPhona app developer and then finally I also studied computer science.

After that I I went back to the automobile industry, but with the CS background I’m in software development now. My profession is very broad. I’m Integrator, Software Factory Subject Matter Expert (basically architecture around devops), Configuration Manager. Not programming at all anymore.

How does .world know that I am over 18 when I post from my own instance?

I just watched the TV show Mo the other day. In S02E05 or so the main character is in jail and there is a guy who is meowing and all the other characters think this guy has some problem and is weird. Everyone thinks it’s funny at start but is annoyed by it soon after.

I think it might be a tick like people who have tourettes syndrom or similar.
