I canât help but feel soap making itself wouldnât be as much use as why/when to use it?
Mixing oil with the ashy water (which is as simple as soapâs gonna get) is reasonably easy to do and so useful that even without a civilisation people would probably be doing it either through discovery or by keeping doing it?
I think things like âhow to build a wooden bridge so it will hold a laden cart and not fall downâ are more likely to be lost without civilisation while still being incredibly useful (although I canât say Iâd be very good for that)
I might add a section on refrigeration methods like zeers or wind towers/yakhchÄls if the civilisation would be somewhere hot and dry, otherwise maybe something on using rivers for powering looms, mills etc.
For 3, I thought weed just didnât affect me too strongly as I am well aware of drugs affecting different people in different ways (if I have a coffee I canât sleep until around 14 hours after), but if not everyone has the right enzyme? Is there a way to induce it or something as I donât fancy putting shit that doesnât belong into my lungs but also see the relaxing properties of weed could be nice
However thatâs an issue with the legal system rather than anything else and could also exist without capitalism - itâs possible for the legal system to be dominated by any powerful entity from corporations to the state to unions depending on the political system, and if you donât have enough sway within one of those powerful entities then tough luck
Copyrights and patents
Used to collect the products of another personâs labor
If you ask me itâs the exact opposite⌠Copying someone elseâs work with no benefit to them removes a big driver for innovation.
This also only really applies with corporations - you could in theory have everyone be self-employed in a capitalist society
Yeah, racism in europe is largely stereotypes directed at whole groups that are rooted in truth but grossly overblown, eg âblack people just want to commit crimeâ, âarabs want to install shariaâ, âeast asians want to eat your dogâ, âindians want to outgrow the native populationâ and other nonsense.
If you ask the huge majority of the people who are saying these things if they interact with people in these groups, theyâll say âyes, but theyâre some of the good onesâ not realising itâs only a tiny fraction who arenât, but also accepting that race doesnât automatically make you anything.
Comparing that to the US where (from what Iâm aware of) thereâs both âI refuse to even speak to members of xyz race because theyâre subhumanâ and âxyz race needs all the help they can get because they have such a tough timeâ it seems so hard for individuals to just live a normal life in the US?
