I chose my instance 9 or so months ago purely because it was suggested by the Jerboa app at the time. In lieu of making numerous accounts to access communities that aren’t federated with my instance, I was hoping to make a second account with a very “federated” instance. Any suggestions?

Despite being here for a while, I’ve mostly been a lurker til recently and haven’t learned a lot. Thanks in advance.

tbf they’re pretty much all federated with each other still, there’s not a whole ton of exceptions. You’ve got the fascist and tankie kids, they’re defederated a good bit, and Beehaw defederated the two other big ones, due to bot accts if I remember right.

Basically anything asides world, ml (i think?), beehaw, lemmygrad or explodingheads.

You can google lemmymap, and you’ll get a visual representation that shows blocks. There’s also a couple websites that’ll give the info more accessibly, but I don’t recall them. Someone else will prob share one.

Beehaw initially couldn’t handle the influx of unvetted users with 4 admins so they defederated. It was early days. We may be refederated in the future.

I believe sh.itjust.works has one of the shortest block lists, but chances are you aren’t missing anything from additional blocks outside beehaw.

Or just host your own then you can federated with almost anyone

Who has defederated us that you know of? As far as big instances go I believe we are one of the better federated.

It’s more about who the instance blocks, and there’s quite a few on the block list. Maybe I wanna watch porn or chat up a tankie.

I switched over from my previous instance to rammy.site specifically because it doesn’t block any instances and (afaik) no other instances block it. So far it’s working pretty well for me. Alternatively, like others have mentioned, you could host your own instance and then it won’t defederate anyone if you don’t want it to.

I looked into it, and I may try this one. Easier thanstarting my own instance. Thanks.
