Seriously, I just want to read international news and everyday stuff. I just don’t give a fuck about america that much.

Your options are:

  1. Endless US Trump / Musk “news”.
  2. Romantic nostalgia for 1950s USSR from people who’s grandparents weren’t even born.

Welcome to Lemmy.

Not true… there’s also Star Trek and Linux here.

Eh, I suspect most of those Russia/China fascism lovers posing as “leftists” are mid-30s white dudes, and as a mid 30s white dude, my grandmother was alive during WWII.

The options remain the same, though.

I’ve spent so much of my life getting American news shoved into my feeds that I never even considered not having that as an option.

If you’re capable of a language other than english, try the localized feddit.randomcountryTLD sites, like

Feddit.org (mostly german)

Feddit.nl (mostly dutch)

and so on. There are many of them and have just a little to nearly no american spam.

yeaah but even on other instances, it’s all about musk-trump. Even politics aside, american have cultural supremacy so their news tends to be overblown.
