How is apple supposed to keep track of ads displayed within other apps and platforms, though?

Just looked them up, I knew they existed before but did not realise they came in different colours! Also, they’ve been around forever so I never really associated them with artificial gems. Thanks!

Are artificial gems as cheap as they say?
I've been hearing for years that artificial gems (diamonds, rubies, moissanite, etc) cost a 'fraction' of the real thing. Is this true? If so, where can I as a consumer buy a handful of this stuff? Note that I don't want jewellery-grade gems, I realise that would cost a lot simply due to rejects and labour to cut / polish. I just want stuff I can mess around with for hobbies and crafts.

Eh. I got banned from a community on Beehaw because I said as a Chinese, I didn’t have any opinions on Jews one way or another. Apparently that was antisemitic 🤷‍♂️

It’s not a paradox, it’s a social contract. Tolerance is only deserved by those who are tolerant themselves.

What is the benefit of nature? Worth and importance are intrinsically human judgements, the universe doesn’t give a damn about birds and plants any more than it does about us.

If you value life in general, humanity is the best chance life on earth has of ever getting off planet earth and into the galaxy before the sun dies.

Right? Prior to this I would have agreed with you about sugar. I’m open to the possibility that they’re making mistakes I’m not smart enough to notice, which is why I’m happy to hear other viewpoints on it

They link to a lot of studies, and explain the reasoning at every step of the way. Like I said, it’s an interesting read. I’d be happy to hear an opposing view about any mistakes in their logic.

TLDR sugar and fat aren’t to blame. Something in the environment is screwing up our bodies ability to maintain a normal weight, and it’s probably microplastics / forever chemicals.

Most major developers of AI generated imagery, at least the corporates, will do it as they share the common interest of not polluting their sample data. Open source imagery might make it optional, but the functionality will be implemented. Either the PRs will be submitted by one of the corporations, or marketing like this article will convince the devs to implement it.

Remember, they don’t need EVERYBODY to implement it. As long as this reduces the amount of unmarked AIgen images by a reasonable percentage, it’s worth doing for them.

Seems a lot of people are misinterpreting this.

The goal is not to protect the general public from misinformation. The goal is to prevent the pool of new training data from getting TOO contaminated with AI generated images, which would make it worthless for training new AI

Interesting read on obesity, and why sugar might not be the culprit we think it is.

Why do perfectly healthy adults need cars? Or regular bikes? Has everyone forgotten how to use their legs?

For games with a shitton of content, I’m not sure it’s entirely possible. You just can’t have every single combination of stuff checked out after every change

Mine is boardgames. You start free by playing somebody else’s collection, then you get the urge to start your own…

If you lose your hand, you’re a casualty. If you lose your head, you’re a death.

I suppose that depends on your definition of by the balls. Like I said, it’s not difficult for everybody to switch if they piss everyone off. On average people here have 2-3 IMs installed.

Yes, yes and yes. Yes I’m from one of those countries
