Well, if they tell the truth then it’s fine. But no way to know what they do with this redirect (to my knowledge at least).

And they reported that it was to gather the referral when going to websites, which constitutes their income. But it’s closed source so we don’t know. It could be tracking and selling the data.

I’d say that we’re sure it will. It has begun making the same shady practices like redirecting all out going links through go.bsky*app 🙄

I think the idea of a megathread is to give the opportunity to avoid a topic that is flooding the community to people not interested.

Of course. And I’ll continue to do so as long as advertisement is detrimental to my online experience. If it wastes my time by forcing me to watch an ad before a video, if it distracts me from reading a text because of animations, if it tries to scam or shock me, I’m better off blocking it. I’m not against advertisement as communication that a useful product or service exists, I’m against advertisement abuse and greed.

I’ll happily pay for, donate to, or otherwise support services important to me that need and deserve it.
