I ate crumbled raw tofu (with a little salt) on crunchy peanut butter toast for breakfast. It was delicious. And tasted like tofu.

Usually tofu is cooked with a sauce, and it can be cooked a bunch of different ways. It takes on a lot of flavor.

I would never have thought to call it that but Wiki agrees: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundabout_(play) to me a carousel or merry-go-round is motorized and huge with fake horses to ride on.

Shostakovich for creepy and delightfully screechy evening music.

Mussorgsky for chill and ponderous weekend morning music.

They also have a reputation for having dropped all the 60s counterculture idealism as soon as they got a buck, and have been driving the capitalist market for shitty overseas products like it’s a drug addiction. Sorry, is that just my dad? Signed, a Middle Millennial

Maybe that’s bc you’re just not as traumatized by them as the rest of us.

Lemmy.world is my instance… Good tip on the language. I’ll check that out. I didn’t realize it filtered automatically.

Wait… vegetable oil? Like, olive, canola, avocado, coconut? I have never heard of this.

Edit: Commenter below helped me understand you’re probably talking about hydrogenated oils. Seems misleading to say vegetable oil is a silent killer. You’re not wrong about heavily processed foods, though. (Thanks @mindrover@lemm.ee !)

I like it, except… I can’t upvote or comment on anything. I’m signed in, as my comments/posts show up in my profile, but it tells me I’m not logged in when I try to comment. Any tips?

A quick bug is that Liftoff also only seems to show a selection of comments on my recent post. It says there are 8 comments, but Liftoff only shows 5 of them. Then I tried again and it showed 4 comments.
