I Made My Own Computer | Let's See How It Works
Pretty cool video to give you a bit of an understanding how computers work.

I think the youtube video that’s linked in the article has the rom as a download. The game isn’t finished thought I think.

Krastorio is only a little bit more complicated to vanilla factorio. So the difference to AngelBob is massive. Krastorio is the easiest overhaul mod out of SE, AB, etc. Just give it a try, it’s not like we don’t all have a huge graveyard of started runs in our saves folder ;)

Also totally different topic the warptorio mod is very cool as well, and not crazy complicated! Just make sure to warp manually, don’t wait for the timer, defense will eat all your resources ;)

Legend has spent years making Portal for the N64 and by Gaben he's done it
cross-posted from: https://kbin.social/m/games@sh.itjust.works/t/427580 > Several years ago PCG reported on the early stages of a project by programmer James Lambert, who really loves the N64 and decided for the hell of it to make a version of Portal that runs on hardware first released in 1996. > > Well, Lambert is clearly the type of chap who commits to something and then follows through, because he's spent the time since then continually adding bits and bobs and now has something which, to my admittedly uneducated eyes, is the most impressive homebrew game I've ever seen.

IMO, it might add some extra quality overall.

I think so too, but if I do it I want to get the quality somewhat right. I think for a video without sound the quality is okay, at least since I started recording 60fps.

I fear it might be too much work or I wouldn’t know what to say. It would be embarrassing to have it on tape that I don’t know what I’m doing or that I’m making mistakes.

haha thanks yeah I just shared my thoughts, but this is the internet after all ;)

Haha of course, yes. And space engineers, oxygen not included etc

But Skyrim is beautiful even with its older graphics and has an interesting world to explore. Grey space metal structures on grey planets just aren’t interesting. Also even more so if the story starts with “you touched a weird rock”, don’t know why but here have my spaceship.

In Skyrim you’re waking up going to be executed next moment there’s a dragon attack.

I watched 2 hours of starfield gameplay and an hour of review
and I am really not impressed. I don't want to know more about the story, don't want to build a spaceship that I can fast travel with, don't want to explore the universe. What are your thoughts?

I don’t think so. I used to post every day so there would at least be some content. Now I don’t feel like that’s necessary anymore. I like it more now.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Let's Play Part 1: Infected
I never heard of Baldur's Gate, but the other day someone on lemmy recommended this playthrough of the game that was just released. I watched it and it's different from Skyrim etc, in that it has a way deeper story and is played slower. It's a bit like DnD apparently, which I don't know much about either. Anyways, full recommendation!

Krastorio 004 - automated science

IR3 is crazy beautiful. Too complex for me to enjoy playing it though.

I feel the same. The only other mod that I have finished is warptorio, which isn’t too complex as well.

Oh no you will never finish that save ^^

Krastorio 001 - a new beginning
Hey I am starting a new game of factorio. This time with the krastorio mod and the krastorio team recommended companion mods.

cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/1891205 > About 8 months ago I got pretty tired of seeing billionaire spam online. I could not bear to read about yet another rich guy who launched themselves (or their $200,000 car) into outer space 🚀 . I did not care about their expert opinion on the latest meme coin back then. I do not care about their expert opinion on the dangers of AI today. > > So... I developed a **tiny**, **free**, and [open source](https://github.com/aCosmicWave/blocktherich) Firefox browser add-on called **"[Block the Rich](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/block-the-rich/)"**. It is completely local and private. No data is tracked. No data is phoned home. > > The concept is pretty simple: whenever I load a web page, the extension quickly analyzes the content and intelligently blurs out any references to the *Forbes Top 10 Billionaires*. Some former and wannabe billionaires are blurred out of courtesy as well (I'm looking at you Trump and Kanye 🙄). > > This project is a *very* early prototype that I built in the span of a few days. I have so many awesome ideas for enhancements but the truth is that the wind got completely knocked out of my sails when I put myself out there on Reddit many moons ago. There was absolutely zero public interest. To this day my wife and I are the only ones using the original prototype. > > **People of Lemmy, do you think there is a place on the internet for such a project, or is it time that I let it go?**

Do you use reddit mostly through the app or web?
Because I only use web, on mobile and desktop. I can't live without adblock.
