Food? Everybody likes food, right?

Or an experience - a trip, a night out, whatever

This post has way too much nuance for a site with downvoting.

That was pizza hut’s ad campaign for stuffed crust pizza.

Last November, Seattle Bike Blog posted about a “mostly Seattle-based transit-loving” Mastodon server (social.ridetrans.it), and it sounded great to me (and still is!). But coming to Lemmy around the Reddit blackout (I was a RIF user for probably 10+ years) was what really got me interested in the fediverse as a whole.

That makes sense. The original problem is “do nothing” vs. “do something”, while this version is “do something just” vs. “do something unjust”.

Condemning an innocent person to death would be the direct responsibility of the Judge, whereas the judge is not directly responsible for the actions of the protestors.

This logic could be applied to the original trolley problem as well - pulling the lever is condemning an innocent person to death and you are directly responsible for it, while you are not responsible for the trolley continuing on its course and killing five people.

I like that the article has some positivity (and some cool links) at the end.

Also, I definitely feel like the fediverse is a step toward a less soulless (more soulful?) internet.

This raises the question, why was a company allowed to trademark a letter?

When you’re stuck like glue

When you need some goo

When you’re black and blue

If you’d like to woo

Yeah, that one definitely flopped when I tried it.

Yes, but a lot less. I unsubscribed from everything except some niche communities that are inactive/nonexistent on Lemmy, plus a few related to the Fediverse.

But the loss of Rif means I’m using it a lot less anyway.
