You could make automatic breaking without a full blown computer, but it’s so much cheaper to put a full-blown computer than it is to do it all in hardware. Everything uses turing complete equipment now, it’s actually less expensive at this point.

There’s absolutely no reason not to put multiple computers in the car I think the real win is not surfacing it to the end user.

Scientists warned Congress about it in '88, 11 years prior.

The term was coined in '75.

An oceanographer first started warning people in '57.

I carry two of my tool bag.

I have one huge industrial strength with replaceable retractable brake off blades.

Then I have one that’s really small like the tiny plastic ones, but it’s Even thinner and slimmer the case is metal.

And I have maybe half a dozen other random pocket knives.

Honestly ever since I got a Kershaw Static, I don’t really use box cutters anymore. The blade shape is just perfect for the job and it stays sharp for ages

You’re not interviewing for a job, they’re interviewing to be your employer.

It’s quickly getting more toxic and aggressive. But we’re not counting karma, so as soon as you recognize that someone is arguing with you in bad faith just block them.

I’m not sure we can handle that type of population increase. It those numbers are right meat is probably keeping the population density under control.

I started out using LastPass because it’s what work used which was obviously a bad idea. When it came time to leave them I moved to bitwarden which has been pretty fantastic but I mainly use it because I need to share passwords amongst my family and I really like the TOTP integration.

If I didn’t have that need I would probably use KeypassX and throw it’s database into a Dropbox or Syncthing.

The problem is you need a time machine and that’s well over 100

I used to do this, there’s always a slight worry that some place will get a couple of your passwords and be able to figure out your formula the chances are pretty slim. Were the real pain came from me, when a website forces you to change your password, or they require some limit to the letters numbers and punctuation that wouldn’t allow me to use my formula. I had a growing list of websites that had more exceptions.

That comment REALLY tied the thread together, Did It Not?

I mean you’re not wrong Walter.

The concept is that it’s a formula you can do in your head most people aren’t going to spend a minute trying to work out 9/5 in their head

Nah, the speed of light in air is faster than the speed of light in peanut butter.

You use links on your server to pull the data from the other servers

I miss WSL1’s hybrid hacky network integration. 2’s inability to follow along with time and DNS changes It’s kind of a pain in the ass. But yeah, the emulation and install is good enough that I don’t care to do anything more complicated.

Anyone that’s upset that there’s not enough people here wouldn’t be able to complain about that anymore,

They will however have all the new people to complain about.

Early adopters that are willing to overcome a small challenge and will work too fill out the empty communities are great friends.

The onslot from Instagram is going to look a lot more like zombies.

I have installed and tried all of them. Right now, WefWef running under Brave is winning on Android.

It’s fast, the gestures are great The media works, I can resize and download images easily get to read and clear my inbox and see my post history.

I daily drove Linux for 15 years. OSX for about five, and now windows since WSL.

It’s easier to get the Linux stuff I like in Windows than it is to get the window stuff I like in Linux. WSL provides me all the tools I need to manage my Linux servers in a reasonably performant package.

I have one account on lemmy.world, I subscribe to communities on all the servers with it local or remote doesn’t matter all that much.
