And how does that make you feel?
On a serious note though people who I didn’t like and didn’t want to talk to would come by my desk daily and spend a minimum of 20 minutes just talking about shit I didn’t care about. How they got any work at all done is beyond me because obviously they were doing the rounds and talking to everyone else too. And how I got any work done between the million visits? I hated being in an office. I was so miserable.
When my previous employer announced RTO they literally sent us an infographic explaining why they chose their “hubs” and Denver was “$7 million in tax breaks”. It’s a multi billion dollar company but 7 million dollars is 7 million dollars, I guess. I don’t think they even had a major office there before, they were opening one.
The unwritten rule of unlimited PTO is like 2 weeks max but you’re gonna get the side eye if you even take that much. It’s just a scam because most people use less when it’s ‘unlimited’ and because depending on local laws they may have to pay you out for it in the event of separation of employment if it’s accrued.
Those people would have also fired you for failing the question because you weren’t fired, you just weren’t hired. I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to have a sense of humor but they’re basically saying you’re illiterate because you can write 4 sentences instead of 3, instead of just being honest about the fact that they’re gonna micromanage you and they can already see it won’t work out because you don’t follow stupid rules to the letter.
I’m not familiar with this so take this with a grain of salt because I’m just guessing. Let’s say your CC is with Visa and T-Mobile has this offer going. You sign up for it and the fine print says that Visa gets to send T-Mobile details of your purchases. How much information I don’t know. They might just send a total of eligible purchases or they might send a lot more. Then, Visa sends them some amount of $ for each eligible transaction which is more than the cash back they’re giving you. Visa is ok with this because the more purchases you make the more interest you’re likely to pay them so everyone is making money but you.
Edit: in other words they’re counting on you paying more in interest than you’re getting in cash back.
You want to get some nice blackout thermal curtains for any windows facing south. You might actually need 2 sets of curtains to fully block the sun. I’ve noticed a big difference this year since I added a 2nd thermal curtain on top of the 1 I had. Unfortunately that only helps so much and as long as it’s unbearably hot outside you’re going to see the heat increase inside as the day goes on. At night open all of your windows and run fans to get as much airflow as possible while it’s cooler outside. In the morning close your windows the minute the outside temperature is the same as the inside temperature. As long as it’s cooler outside, the windows should be open.
I like this! Maybe the book is a telling of the story as it happens and the show is a retelling centuries later with the information available to them. They don’t have the inner monologue of the characters, they don’t know all the exact details (ok, so Perrin wasn’t married? Eh, his early life wasn’t super clear in the written histories).
