I was 13 when I realized I might be a furry… and my fursona became a rabbit. why a rabbit… it’s maybe bacause of a joke, but that’s also kinda incorrect. But I have pretty much vibed with it.
Later on, I wanted my fursona to have a larger, wolf-like tail, because… well, tails are awesome.
At first. only the tail. then, as I aged, more and more wolf features got added to the point of today, 15 years later, where it’s now a really strange dog by the looks. But I like it, it’s a wolfrabbit.
Pretty much the software you run on it and the support behind it. And for now, energy consumption, but I can imagine 100 years now that won’t be a factor anymore.
But that’s probably falls under “no practical use”
I mean, with the proper software, you still can automate your house with a Commodore 64, or browse the web with an Amiga
I mean, I’m not saying that part was a mistake or anything like that, it’s just when I first saw this whole “how do you turn this on” cobra car cheatcode like thing… only that scene was made me question for once that am I really watching Star Trek? it just felt off.
but granted, DS9 is a very different Star Trek. it’s an amazing one. that’s for sure.
and also granted I’m “just” at the 4th season of Voyager, not too much ago finished DS9.
DS9. The Dominion is about to come through the wormhole with hundreds or thousands of ships and the prophets are like “omg Sisco you can’t have a fucking war here, man, we need you later on” and Sisco was “fuck you, I do whatever I want, do your magic, I don’t care, it’s man’s business” so Sisco wont retreat.
and then what happened?
The whole fucking Dominion fleet just disappeared, poof! like Sisco used some kind of cheat code.
fuck that.
anyway, it’s not the scene itself that was bad, but man. that was so freaking cheap I think the whole show changed in me a little bit after that. still amazing series, tho
on winters, I don’t go above 20°C. on summers, I completely turn off the heater and even cut the gas, have all the two windows fully open for the rest of the season. I have an AC system installed, tho it’s really old and consumes too much power for my likings. In my country they fucking rob people with electricity/gas bills, it’s the fetish of our president. Also the AC unit is in a wrong place and haven’t even cleaned it in years, so… it’s just decoration at this point.
my luck is that I have neighbors on two sides and under me (I’m at first floor) so I don’t really need to crank up the heater, because I’m already surrounded by heated homes. since my home is small, heating with gas is extra cheap for me.

Retro tech. It’s not too obscure, especially nowadays. I could talk long hours about how mind fucking blowing was the Amiga and then still how it went down on the drain… tho I just see on the other people that this isn’t really the topic that will kickstart (heheh) the party.
I need to find more friends…
my PC has less than 2TB spread accross multiple drives, SSDs and HDDs as well. I’m running a Pi as a server, with 1TB SSD in it. Also have a 4TB backup disk, which is currently installed in my main PC, but don’t really use it as an “active” storage.
but I just had a flashback to around 2000, when the whole family went to a PC shop to buy our first machine. It had a whopping 20GB HDD in it! we all was like “oh lord, this disk is HUGE! it’s impossible to fill up!”
needless to say, it wasn’t. sometime later my next machine had 80 gigs and I almost got dizzy on the thought how freaking much is that. spoiler alert: it wasn’t that big afterall 😅
one of my friends, who loves TV like this told me he had instant migraine from Wilfred :P
also, my girlfriend really didn’t wanted to start it, because it was too strange for her, but after a few episodes she has fallen in love with the series.
so fucking a pity there’s no other show like this (or I don’t know about it at least…)
