Most of the news stuff is here on Lemmy, but in addition I also use YouTube for specific news I’m interested in.

Practically none of my favorite music artists are coming to Korea on tour so I just gave up on that. Sometimes I just look around on websites which collect events if there is something I’m interested in, but that happens once a year or something.

The hanging wires were the #1 reason why I always cracked the screen of my phone. I would hold it in my hand and listening to something and then one wrong swing with my arm and the phone was on the floor with a cracked screen. Since I switched to bluetooth headphones it has literary stopped happening, I have not cracked any screen in the last 5 years.

Mine has one but even though I don’t use it, it’s good to have it for emergency situations when your bluetooth headphones are out of battery.

There is not much difference in time between those two, old forums are 20 years old and Usenet perhaps 30 or less.

Firefox, have it since I switched to it from the Mozilla suite.

I guess here in Korea it’s eating with chopsticks. In Sweden it was Swimming (especially for my Indian work mates). In Germany it was opening a beer bottle with anything you just happened to have in your hand at that time. In Poland I’m not sure, but probably making those elaborate sandwiches for parties.

The opposite happened to me in Japan. For the love of God I can’t do an asian squat and there was only this old style squat toilet there. On top of that I really had to go because I had a bit of a diarrhea situation going on. I had no idea which one was the front and which was the back of the toilet. I figured if I try it I will just shit on my pants, so I had to completely remove them. Then I awkwardly lowered myself down no some kind of a weird squat, holding on to the walls of the stall for life, sweating like hell and bam, some of it went on the toilet.

I was relieved that I didn’t shit myself but mortified how to clean up my mess. In the end I was able to clean it with some water and I was lucky that it was in the night (at a cheap hostel) and nobody came in why all of this was happening.

I’ve never really been bullied, neither in school, university or work. When I realized that I thought that perhaps I was the bully if nobody bullied me. But I can’t think of having bullied anyone either, at least not intentionally.

English is my fourth language and it opened so many possibilities in my personal life that it outweighs practically all the bad stuff.

Tchnically the name consist of two parts the part with the ! At the beginning and the part with @ and the server domain at the end.

So !technology@slrpnk.net is very different from !technology@lemmy.world while the second would be mostly about Twitter, Meta, Apple and Tesla, the first would be about technology which would help us to live a life destroying the environment as little as possible.

So even if parts of the name are simmilar the communities can be vastly different.

I guess from a quick look and with the translation the nuances of the conspiracy theories mentioned might not quite be obvious. But when you read it in German it’s more obvious that he’s making fun of (let’s say) most of them.

That guy is a security auditor of software as his main job and this blog is just his pet project on the side.

[edit] but yeah it’s quite a wild ride, that’s what is the appeal for many people like me.

It’s German but this guy has been blogging since the beginning of time http://blog.fefe.de/

When I was a child the priest on Sunday said that we’d go to hell or heaven when we die and that we’d stay there forever. I got very scared, I don’t want to exist forever, I find that a very scary thought.

Later once I grew up I realized that there is probably no god, so this is a non-issue for me now.

Ah yeah, I wrote that it should be within 10 minutes of my flat + seperate room but yeah paid commute (frome my home door back to my home door within 8 hours) would also be OK. I could try to work remotelly if I’m on a train or just listen to a podcast.

If it was very close, like under 10min bicycling, and if I had my own office room like the director/CEO has. I hate open plan offices with a passion.

How do other Europeans survive the raining season in Asia?
I moved to Korea and every year June, July and August I'm incapable to be outside because of the humidity. On the way to the convenience shop my underwear is already sweaty. So I stay either in the office or at home running the AC all the time which doesn't help with fighting the climate change.

How old are you?

A Look at Bluesky - An overly complicated social networking platform
To be honest I like the idea of being able to move my account from a server which is offline to a different one. We should have it with ActivityPub too.
