Adobe Reader needing a 5€ subscription for rotating pages. Fuck techno feudalism.

The general direction that streaming services have been taking in recent times is clear, though: Raising prices, locking down account sharing, splitting up the content across too many different providers and introducing advertisement in cheaper plans. Sounds pretty cable-y to me.

You think my reply goes against your believe in the freedom of expressing yourself? Lol, I think I’ll have to say it again: Chill, bro!

Reddit’s downfall is a major disruption in the internet, of course everyone is going to talk about it, especially considering most of us are coming from there. Chill, bro!

Changing their motto /code of conduct „Don’t be evil“ into „Do the right thing“ (for our shareholders) didn’t benefit their reputation either…

It’s still in their code of conduct, though.

Just go to kbin.social, this is the largest instance. There are other, smaller instances, too. Just like Lemmy.

I think wrong information and rudeness should get downvoted, nothing more.

There’s an actual reason for me, which is still not good enough of a reason for me to actually buy a new phone even if the old one is still working. Emulation! My Snapdragon 888 is good enough for 3DS, PS3 and Wii and all this stuff, but it can’t keep up with the current develpments in Switch emulation. That’s why I’m already looking forward to my next phone (as soon as my current one doesn’t work anymore)

Not missing the subreddit itself, but /r/tvtoohigh is a great symbol for how even the most obscure niche subreddits had a steady flow of content.

Expecting that reddit will go down within weeks: Unreasonable.

Expecting that reddit will have a slow and painful death and that spez completely fucked up the upcoming IPO and the long term future of the platform? Absolutely reasonable.

Could we please keep the instances apart from the software? It doesn’t matter at all what the political views of the devs are. You don’t support them if you’re using Lemmy on an instance that has nothing to do with the two devs. They created something that’s larger than themselves. I’m getting tired of the LEMMY DEVS ARE TANKIES outcries.

The statement Reddit gave us is the oldest trick in the book. (The Verge)

I’m also an old.reddit / RiF veteran and I love the mobile browser version. Already feels like home!

Wow, they’re really putting some effort into alienating their user base. What a shame.
