Depends on the game, but overall yay. Some of my favorite games are Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and Red Dead 2. Open worlds really let you immerse yourself and get lost in the game, especially if you limit fast travel.

I recently played Jedi Fallen Order for the first time, and I was a bit shook at how “level-y” the worlds felt. I wouldn’t say open worlds have ruined traditional games for me, but it sure is jarring going back to them.

Rutabaga. It’s a root vegetable that you cook similar to parsnips or turnips. A bit of a nutty, earthy flavor. Really good mashed with a splash of cream and a grating of fresh nutmeg.

I only ever saw the first Fast and Furious movie and didn’t really like it.

Internet anonymity in general is a terrible thing and I would do away with it if I could. I’m impossible to say who’s a real person, who’s a bot, who’s an alternate account. It’s allowed every evil and terrible person to find others like them and embolden each other without the oversight of social pressure from the rest of society which I think is an essentially needed social cue of healthy human communities.

Yes I realize the irony of posting this on Lemmy.

French toast is basically single-serving bread pudding. I’ve found that people don’t need too much convincing to have dessert for breakfast.

It wasn’t the content of the dream, but the nature of the dream itself. Ever have a dream that seems like it’s years long? I woke up a little disoriented and feeling like I had lived another life.

Cubs won, had a baked potato bar for dinner. Pretty good day.

Unlikely. They have data centers in several locations all over the world, and there are countless backup copies downloaded onto personal devices everywhere.

Chicken soup.

Chicken stock, chicken, carrots, onion, celery. Add noodles if you like.

I disagree with your corollary. We don’t know the rules of the universe that our simulated universe resides in. We could be the first layer or an infinitely lower layer, and there would be no way of knowing.

Add more color. Paint your walls if you’re allowed to.

Add stuff. Plants, furniture, art on the walls, and rugs. Bare rooms feel bigger.
