I play guitar, watch USMLR and NHL, occasionally brew beer, enjoy live music and travel, and practice sarcasm.

I would have to think things like shitting in public. There’s signs like this in locations around the world.
I’ve traveled a bit and so appreciate the culture of haggling. One time while in Panamá I needed an SD card. The Baroness is from there, so we were out with a few cousins going to the mall and big box stores. Of course everywhere was charging like 3x what it would cost in the US. So at the last shop I just laid it out that I could get the $45 card for $15 in the US so asked if they’d take like $25 or something. She was a little confused as haggling isn’t super common, at least in the modern shops. So she went to go check with the manager. He came out from the back. Indian guy. He just looked at me, the only white guy around, and was just like “yeah we can do that.” Had a look to him like he appreciated the encounter. On the way out one of the cousins was gobsmacked that it worked, like he had just witnessed real life magic.
It’s not really that powerful, nor is it likely what billionaires are peddling to the politicians. Where would the billionaires go with lower taxes and yet the same secure standard of living? What’s to stop the politicians from raising taxes to 0.1% lower than these mythical low-tax countries with the stability and infrastructure to support their companies? That’s just the bullshit story that is fed to the public.
In reality it’s just what Elon is doing, but historically has been done more privately. “Prop up my business with low taxes, lax regulations, and tasty government contracts or I’ll spend $100M supporting a primary opponent.” And the politicians say “Ok give my wife spouse a board position or something and we can deal.”
Try songkick.com or bandsintown.com to watch for upcoming shows. You can track artists, venues, and cities. Song kick is more flexible for tracking multiple cities. They have mobile apps or just plain old email alerts.
I want to say image uploads were disabled due to some a-holes uploading CSAM and not having any other surefire way to protect against it. Like if you’re in a comment editor you could upload an image, save the URL, and cancel the comment. The image is then hosted on the Lemmy instance and reachable via the URL you saved, but it’s not actually accessible from any post or comment. Not sure if there’s any capability in Lemmy to automatically identify and remove uploaded images that aren’t referenced by a post/comment/profile. But even then there would be a time window where the image is stored on the server.
Yeah after that long it’s just going in the recycling. Another thing you can do is notify the post office or carrier to deliver your mail by name only. This won’t stop mail addressed to “current resident,” but it should stop the stuff you’re talking about.
