Well…unless they spontaneously appear or aliens bring them from their planet I don’t think more than once is needed.

Of course maybe another person wants a power to manifest them into the world again.

I hope I am wrong but I see the next generation as completely discless specially if this current generation discless versions sold good enough. The only exception could be Nintendo.

Of course they might require some deals with stores or just sell themselves the consoles online… Because the stores want to sell games, they might still sell peripherals and redeemable cards for money or maybe CD keys… No idea tough, but if the benefits fall they might say “Nah I am not selling your console if games aren’t sold here”.

They are cutting support there too so … I guess there was some?

I mean… Usually in this cases once they charge you you can still ask for a refund as long as it hasn’t passed a lot of days but yeah I agree is shit.

They are usually fund-inducing bugs which are the best kind of bugs.

I mean the only reason to get the SS is and was the much cheaper price, being digital only was part of it but not the only thing or main thing as at the end is less powerful.

A digital version like the PS5 would have been much more expensive, like removing the disc reader it’s not like much saving. So at the end I doubt a lot of people that got the SS would have got it if this model was a thing tbh.

It’s for security /s (or not /s not sure 😅)

I mean… this already happens now if you leave the PC open or in sleep, for example with bitlocker.

And I guess in this case it could allow when shutdown if the memory has not been cleared… But most of the time that is not a problem, most people aren’t attacked by pulling the info directly from the hardware.

And in case that is a possible attack, I expect a mechanism of the app(s) to clear that region on shutdown or whatever is done or even better maybe the OS would do it as part of the existing memory protection mechanisms. I mean most apps already clear the memory as soon as possible if it is not needed to avoid having secrets or unencrypted information on memory.

I am confused, you want it closed or open? For the first three points the closed door is better.

Yeah but still there will be less work, eventually they will generate new voices not related to nobody, yeah in some cases if they want the fandom of or popularity of a famous person yeah that will still be needed as you say, but for generic NPCs? An AI generated voice that is a new person in a way will be enough, so less work for voice actors for sure.

Anyone would see that a one time event engagement doesn’t solve anything, you cannot do the r/place every week…

development makes the software more performant over time, not less

Yeah but they will focus on the newer hardware. And new features might based on new hardware capabilities that might not be on the older hardware or requires workarounds that are worse.

I mean…the software updates usually help people end up upgrading as new features do not work on certain models or are slower etc…
