If I disappear for 3 weeks, assume I’m dead.
If it’s difficult, you can always a) minimise the stuff/amount you’re asking for (asking someone to visit isn’t even asking for help), b) come up with something to trade, i.e. what you can do for them in return or later.
Not saying it’s the best approach, but it’s a way to break through the hardest mental barrier.
No. You send me a message, your businesses is done, whether I read it or not is my business. Especially on WhatsApp where there are spammers and debt collectors.
I don’t mind keeping it on on private messengers with no connection to my identity, like Session or Matrix. But if you can find me via my phone number, nope.
It’s bizarre how features like these are enabled by default. Same shit with embedding GPS in photos… On by default. Shows what kind of people design these things.
I get what you’re staying, but frankly your OP question sounds pretty silly considering what the issue is.
The idea is, everyone can run their communities as they like… Even with such stupid rules as no pictures in a lawn comm, or US politics only in a politics comm on a world instance. Kinda sad in such cases, but otherwise the mods and admins are there for mostly good reasons.
You can almost always find comms or instances more to your liking, or try and start your own.
I also wrote something like that.
Somebody really needs to figure out a better way to do this.
I’ve used it a lot especially when console gaming and using my phone for Discord chat. So even tho I use BT earphones more often, it’s useful to have.
USB dongles are unacceptable because I use magnetic cables, and USB ports are notoriously prone to breaking, making the whole phone useless.
Gimme a phone with 2 USB ports and I won’t care about a headphone jack that much.
