I do a search for a specific comedian with the words “full set” in the search terms. I do the search outside of the YT app (e.g., using DDG) and watch it either on Firefox with UBO or I search for it in Newpipe. And then subscribe in Newpipe ( and in the regular YT app so they get a little engagement; I also go in and randomly like a few of their videos).

I don’t know what kind of comedy you’re into but here’s a full Matteo Lane set (I think he’s hilarious) - enjoy:

Does Newpipe have any recommendations? I haven’t noticed any setting for this (and I haven’t missed it, just curious).

Since I’ve been using Newpipe I’ve watched more videos of what I was specifically searching for and little to no mindless viewing. It’s allowing me to research certain topics more easily without the ads and distractions.

Did you end up passing the gall stones on your own or did you have to go to the hospital/ have your gallbladder removed? I have heard that gall stones is the most painful experience ever.

I’m logged into kbin on a Firefox browser and I’m not really experiencing what you are. What browser are you using?

Squabbles is now Squabblr
Just an FYI about another Reddit alternative. [ New URL, too. ](https://squabblr.co/) I think they decided to change the name to avoid a copyright issue.

True, but if someone were to be banned in one community they can always join and make comments in another similar Lemmy community (or similar magazine on kbin). If they get banned on one instance, they cam join another instance. The Fediverse makes it easy to still contribute even if one avenue is closed.

As far as I can tell, there hasn’t been any moderator overreach on Lemmy/kbin. Maybe everyone is starting off on their best behavior. Or mods are aware that the atomized nature of the Fediverse means they have only so much power or influence. Also, it could just be the communities/magazines I’m in but there haven’t been a lot of heated arguments.

Prior to Musk, IIRC, the valuation was around $11B.

But he did convince both Musk and the board that Musk would be the right buyer. He helped orchestrate this deal.

OMG, I just realize that the little blue bird will be replaced with an X everywhere. A generic looking, forgettable X.

I also realize that instead of saying “follow me on Twitter” or “I’m on Twitter,” people will say “follow me on X” and “I’m on X,” which sounds like you’re talking about Ecstacy or Molly. Very 1990s club kid. (He’s Gen X so I’m sure he’s well aware of how this sounds.)

I am seldom a conspiracy theorist but I am really starting to think that he is deliberately trying to destroy Twitter, I mean X.

Thanks for this reply. That’s probably the best way to use LLMs - general definitions or framing / summarizing of issues. And then always check the sources to make sure it was accurate. I’ve played around with ChatGPT and Bard and I think my mistake has been to be a little too granular or specific in my prompts. In most cases it produced results that were inaccurate (ETA: or flat out demonstrably wrong) or only fulfilled a part of the prompt.

Reddit invites mods to “feedback” conversations with the admins

Did they come up with the new name in some kind of software name generator? Sort of like the hip hop name generator that Donald Glover used to come up with Childish Gambino?

Ugh. I went to Feedly after Google Reader went kaput (why did then end that, it was great). I went back to Feedly about a week ago after leaving Reddit. So now I’m on the hunt again.

I would also greatly appreciate free non-selfhosted RSS suggestions for desktop and Android phone.

Kbin is a part of the Fediverse and is similar to Lemmy. I have a kbin.social account and am replying to you from kbin. (I subscribe to a lot of Lemmy communities via kbin).

Tildes is not a part of the Fediverse. It is a text-driven private forum basically created and run by one person. You need an invite from a Tildes account holder to join. It’s its own little island. am on Tildes a lot and really like it.

They could also copy the question and the substantive answers and post them on the Fediverse AskHistorians community/magazine.

I deleted all of my comments using PDS. I just did a Google search for my username on Reddit and it had one result. I went to the post (I remember the OP) but my comment doesn’t appear on the post. So is this a caching issue?

I’m on IG specifically for certain info. I can get lost in the scrolling there but I don’t comment or really engage with anyone. It’s just a resource for me. I prefer text driven forums for conversations. So kbin and Tildes have me. Im finding them more satisfying than Reddit for sure.

Fun anti-mod bot conversation on Reddit 🇫🇷 Jesse #1 HEXAGON FAN (@cpluspatch@fedi.cpluspatch.com)
Apparently someone got into a debate with a bot in Reddit. Maybe it's not a surprise that the bot was anti-mod, pro-Reddit admin. Make sure you scroll down in the comments to see the second screenshot (it's a screenshot.of the same conversation but in dark mode).

Absolutely agree. I’ve not only created a Kbin account, I also now have a Tildes account, and I’m actually using my Mastodon and Substack accounts. I’m lurking some old sites I hadn’t really visited in over a decade (Metafilter, Fark). Im also checking out other forums and microblogs. I’m having real conversations and finding meaningful links (as opposed to reposted TikToks and memes). It really feels like the Internet i used to love.

Reddit’s Moderator Revolt Casts Shadow on Potential IPO
This article was published yesterday but I did not see it posted here. Please merge if there's already a post about this. "Reddit’s winding path to a potential initial public offering hit its latest bump after the site’s plans to make more money from access to its data drew condemnation from volunteer moderators."
