I know it’s become a meme, but because capitalism. I’m surprised gamers more gamers aren’t against it because it only ever makes our favorite hobby so much worse.

It’s already been hurting them a lot it sounds like. I don’t think Baldur’s Gate is the first game to not release on Xbox because they couldn’t achieve system parity with the S. If they’ve really softened on it, then that’s a good idea. Better late than never.

I’ve noticed the same thing and it certainly has helped me skip Reddit more. The front page is 50% or more are validation parts from pretty people on rate me, am i ugly, roast me, outfits, weddings, etc. There are still fun drama threads for people like me who like those, like AITA or TIFU, but a lot of them seem somehow faker and more bot-filled than before.

Same. If I want advice on a product, there’s generally an old Reddit thread about it. But for actual discussions or news, Lemmy has been perfectly fine.

About what Hearts of Iron? I tried that game once (3 or 4, don’t remember) and basically gave up when the tutorial ended and I still had no idea how to do anything.

I think burgitt.moe and exploding heads is supposedly all about free speech. And of course the latter is now basically haven for hate speech so this is why people tend to put in rules.

I like this idea. We should make a topic like this every month or so, maybe in the fediverse community, too. Discoverability is so hard on the fediverse.

I’m not even sure how I would go about playing this game nowadays but it did always sound fun, or at least interesting.
