I got perma banned for telling someone to crawl back into their hole because they were defending female genital mutilation while saying circumcision was perfectly fine because uncut penises “looked nasty”.

But I can still access all of reddit. I just can’t comment or upvote/downvote anything. And the nsfw instance of lemmy is a shit show of having to constantly block the same content over and over because there’s eleventy billion versions of the same community.

The irony of that is after I threw it I screamed “You have one fucking job! BE a dvd player!”

Had a dvd player that would skip all the time even if it was a brand new dvd. Got pissed off and threw it at the wall. Girlfriend plugged it back in a couple hours later and it never skipped again.

There’s a couple for me.

Prioritization of tasks. The flaming pot is more important than the smoking oven.

The ability to move through a dense group of people without disrupting anyone.

Sense of urgency. You need to move with intention and do it quickly.

Injury assessment. You’re not going home because you got 1st degree burns. Grit your teeth and push through. If you cut yourself it’s a different story but unless your skin is sloughing off your fine.

I’m a lifelong cook. Been working in kitchens since I was 15 and I’m currently training to be the sous chef at my current location.

People shit on food service workers but the amount of practical real life skills I’ve acquired over the years has actually come in handy quite a few times.

The fact that there is no discernable difference between an alive body or a dead body when it comes to chemical makeup.

The sad part is it seems like this has become a recent problem. As in the past few days.

I deliberately switched from sh.itjust.works to lemmy.world because I was sick of hexbear users starting fights and just being disingenuous with their arguments.

The sun is an infinite resource to humanity. This isn’t a debatable fact. Yet I seem to be receiving downvotes despite this.

The sun will outlive humanity a million times.

We can either harness it’s energy and other sources like it or run out of energy.

It seems people just don’t like the word “renewable”

That just makes those people stupid.

Long after humanity has ceased to exist.

The sun will exist for hundreds of thousands of years after humanity has gone extinct. The sun will exist for millions of years before it burns out. Humanity will thrive diminish and die before the sun dies.

It is by all intents and purposes an infinite resource for a finite species.

How is the sun not renewable?

Renewable energy means using renewable resources. Meaning things that either replenish themselves within a short enough period or things that produce massive amounts of energy over long periods of time.

Because the amount of fuel used in a nuclear reactor is exponentially less than fossil fuels.

There’s enough nuclear material on this planet to power nuclear reactors for tens of thousands of years.
