I hope that since Bathesda is now a Microsoft studio, Microsoft is going to be persistent with bug fixes. But maybe it’s a tall order.

Being a patient gamer is best. We need to give it at least 6 months for Bathesda to optimize the game and fix the major bugs.

I also enjoyed Andromeda but I just can’t get myself to replay it. I replayed the Trilogy multiple times but I just couldn’t replay Andromeda, it felt like a chore.

While cameras generated a mechanical reproduction of a scene, she explained that they do so only after a human develops a “mental conception” of the photo, which is a product of decisions like where the subject stands, arrangements and lighting, among other choices.

I agree. The types of AIs that we have today are nothing more than mixers of various mental conceptions to create something new. These mental conceptions comes with life experience and is influenced by a person’s world view.

Once you remove this mental conception, will the AIs that we currently have today be able to thrive on their own? The answer is no.

I’m in my late 30s and I remember when Blizzard was highly respected in the industry. sigh, how the mighty have fallen.

They released it on Steam on August 10th because player engagement was on the decline: https://gamerant.com/overwatch-2-player-count-down/

Slashdot -> Digg -> Reddit -> Lemmy. Back then, web servers didn’t have a lot of resources. So if a Digg post was popular, it could slow the site to a crawl. Then we all knew the site was being “Digged”.

But shareholders need to eat! The pushers need to get you addicted to make money!

This is a stupid move. It’s like Google changing its name to something else. Now everyone says “you need to Google this” instead of “you need to search this on the internet”. Twitter has become a recognised brand and tweeting has become a verb in the dictionary. He’s destroying years of work. At this point, we can safely say that his behaviour is not rational.

I spend a lot more time in Lemmy. The conversations here are engaging and intelligent and I actually learn something. Reddit on the other hand was overwhelming as your comment can easily be drowned out by thousands of comments and shit comments.

I enjoy my time here. And Reddit? What is a Reddit? Never heard of it…

I believe you made a mistake. This does not belong in Technology.

And this is why I no longer play mobile games. Too much BS. My phone’s battery life is thanking me.

I have to say, it’s also a subculture of it. When I used to participate in r/patientgamers, a lot of people (myself included) realised that we didn’t care about the latest releases because of our responsibilities (and maturity), and many of us preferred short to long.

But it’s not homogeneous.

Welcome to the Patient Gamers world. Now that I’m in my late 30s with responsibilities, I’ll take a short linear game (e.g. Mafia Definitive Edition) with a compelling story over long, repetitive games (e.g. Assassin’s Creed). Quality over quantity for me. Since I don’t have a lot of time, I want to spend some quality time with the game.

Yeesh. That’s like hating Windows because your experience is based on Windows 98. A lot of things has changed since then, a LOT.

Block the communities you don’t want to see in your profile settings. That way, you’ll see more meaningful posts. That’s what I did, I blocked all memes communities.

Haha, he must have been. We always had interesting philosophical discussions.

Big Tech can transfer Europeans’ data to US in win for Facebook and Google
The European Commission today decided it is safe for personal data to be transferred from the European Union to US-based companies, handing a victory to firms like Facebook and Google despite protests from privacy advocates who worry about US government surveillance.
