This is inadvisable. Reddit has already shown itself to be an untrustworthy company and Huffman to be a dishonourable person. Do you think spez will allow the final version to have his name all over it or allow competing organizations like the fediverse to take away more of his customers thus reducing his profits?
All he have to do is push a button to get have the final version of place the way they want it. Remember what he got caught doing in the past.
KDE Neon, which like many OSes is technically Ubuntu which is actualy Debian.
Before this I tried Debian, Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora.
I find KDE to be pretty buggy but Neon is actively developed and fast moving and bug tend to get addressed quickly.
My heart belongs to FreeBSD however lack of basic drivers such as that for common laptop trackpad and network card made that solution untennable.
I have to disagree with those saying its a UI bug. I have been trying to subscribe to the Linux.ml community for 2 days now. I have tried the double tap trick. It never actually changes from pending.
Ive tried over 100 times, no luck.
I cant seem to subscribe to any Lemmy.ml communities from Lemmy.world.
Agreed their privacy policy is not good and the owner was on record as being anti-privacy some years ago.
There was an excellent site that analyzed the privacy policies, public statements made my employees, owners etc, their history, organizations or donations that companies supported in terms of privacy and integrity. Mailbox was in bottom quartile of the list.
Sadly the site is gone but it was excellent, multiple page analysis of each provider.
Technically however it is maybe the top provider based on the excellent disroot analysis but disappointing for privacy.
