To tack on this. She definitely needs therapy, classic trauma-based coping mechanisms, and the depression may be because of that or exacerbating that. I’d also say, due to natural biases, that we may not have as much negative info on him, but that’s okay.
I think he’s almost done and she’s either almost done or done. Probably the best option is to get out sooner with a little less drama and take some lessons from this. The alternative is to keep trying to fix it until all feeling is gone, then break up with a nicely burned bridge in the background.
This is pretty much me. Used RIF, when it stopped working, I stopped going there regularly. Took a couple weeks to completely kick the habit, and a year of occasional use via search engines, never even bothering to log in. Now I almost never go there. Every terrible thing done under religion has been done without religion. None of them have happened without people (except for killing the different). Maybe people are the problem and religion is just one of many tools that can be used to harm other people. Tribalism exists in many forms, religion in its many flavors being just one of them.
In fact, fusion funding is so low, it’s frankly surprising we make any progress at all.
Drugs worked for me. Specifically anti-depressants for years. I was fortunate enough to be able to stop after about 5 years, with no major relapses. Coping with undiagnosed depression for decades prior to treatment may have given me overpowered tools to deal with minor depressive episodes once the drugs were stopped.
To further clarify, one of the big reasons we don’t do much in space is because it’s really expensive to get stuff up there, even with the reduced costs from reusable rockets. After a certain point it’s cheaper to make a base on the moon, build stuff there and launch it to do whatever you wanted to do than it is to do it here and launch it into space. That it would also reduce the impact on the environment at some point is also a plus.
Of course, all of that requires the resources be available on the moon. We already know the moons composition is similar to earth’s, but we weren’t sure about water. Now that we know water is there, we have everything we need to have lunar industry.
