I bought Disco Elysium during the Steam Summer Sale. I’m only on the second “day” (in game time). It’s OK. There’s lots of attention to art and fleshing out the NPCs. I’m not blown away yet, though.

I was a definite “no” until you made me consider it as an alternative to flying Delta.

It will definitely be a slow death. The sound of a few engaged users uniting in protest isn’t what will scare Reddit. The sound that will scare them is the sound of many casual users going “Meh” when minimally-moderated subs plagued with spammers and repost bots finally bore the doom-scrolling zombies looking for a momentary dopamine rush from Tik-Tok videos and easily digestible memes.

I’ve been waiting for a good deal on Disco Elysium and Escape from the Backrooms. I might pull the trigger this time.

Holy shit, that was fast!

Here are my takeaways. Correct me if I’m wrong.

1. Third party apps monetized Reddit better than Reddit did by actually making a profit, and spez seems pretty butthurt about it and wants it to stop.
2. Third party apps have better accessibility options, but jeez, guys, they’re working on it and you’ll have better accessibility!
3. Third party apps offer a better experience for the mods and users that use them, but jeez, c’mon! They’re working on that, too! Besides, look at all of these casual users who don’t care about that stuff!
