Aren’t they the guys who used to make that trash operating system? Weird that they are still around.

It is disinformation to promote the idea that any of the people or corporations mentioned in this article were ever “climate advocates” and there is no reason we should continue to promote outlets that engage in this rhetoric.

Just brilliant. You created a very mild and civil honeypot for fascist sympathizers.

Bazzite: Just how many of us are there?
Personally I use Bazzite and I think it is great. I operate four PCs in my day-to-day, which may seem excessive, but I choose to solve most computing problems with PCs (no smart TV). My HTPC, which I drive with Bazzite, primarily serves as a fireplace/ light media/ light gaming setup. Bazzite is uniquely well configured for this purpose. It brings the stability of a Fedora-based, Atomic OS, but leaves behind the codec and media issues Fedora can introduce. The tinkering one would generally need to do with Steam comes pre-configured, like you may be used to with SteamOS on Steam Deck. ExpressVPN works, but requires terminal in my configuration (I believe I could operate it through a GUI if I were so inclined). Bazzite does a great job of being configurable to serve TVs that need scaling and safe zones. --- **Fireplace PC Specs for the Nebby:** Ryzen 5700g beQuiet! cooler A320MH motherboard (bios flashed for Cezanne compat) 16 GB DDR4 3200 2 TB SSD 1 TB HDD beQuiet! 500W PSU

I love the high bar of philosophy and taste being set by the discussions here about what is and isn’t art, so please don’t let this note distract from those.

Joints like Christie’s and the stuff they sell is largely a money laundering operation. Without decrying what’s coming out of the modern art scene, art collection is where a lot of the capitalists rinse their stolen wealth. There’s an entire economy around this practice. Here’s a company that will hook you up with the vaults, the lawyers, jewelry to swap, and travel accommodations.

So obviously generative output bots do not make art and- and- BUT ALSO nothing capitalists value is real, they only believe in their fiat. It’s all always just money crime game to them. Always.

“Breaking laws under the banner of a mega-corp Tulpa feels yucky”

Capitalists are completely bonkers, living in a warped reality that you have to be inculcated into by serial abusers

Okay so this is actually a death threat by OpenAI that Fortune is laundering and helping spread. This is clearly modeled after the Boeing murders and resulting wave of anti-activist propaganda that the capitalist media spread afterward.

Otherwise they wouldn’t be re-framing things like this:

That vantage point helped build his view that OpenAI was breaking the law by making copies of online content. OpenAI was Balaji’s first job out of college, a prodigious leap that…

This young man did not have “his view” that OpenAI is breaking the law and stealing content. That is what is factually happening. He was not a naive idealist, fresh out of college. He was a 26 year old man who knew that what he was seeing was wrong.

Fortune then deeply implies that OpenAI has murdered him. This propaganda serves to terrorize people who are in similar positions with corporations. It is a death threat.

Mr. Remington, as a mod, maybe you could add some context to the headline to reflect this.

Neofeud is a solo-dev hand-painted cyberpunk Adventure game
Just saw @silverspookgames@wandering.shop talking about their game on Masto, which is currently on sale, and it sorta seemed like it would have a bunch of cross-appeal over here. Right? "an anti-capitalist indigenous-made cyberpunk game"? C'mon. ![](https://beehaw.org/pictrs/image/5889f192-dc5c-4278-ae2f-e035527a30eb.webp) -----------Steam Copy Follows------------ Neofeud is a Dystopic Cyberpunk adventure game in the vein of Blade Runner, but with an overlay of Game of Thrones-like political intrigue, and 1366x768, hand-painted, stylized visuals. The art, writing, programming, music, and audio are made by one person, Christian Miller, also known as Silver Spook, with the exception of 50% of the voice acting. Synopsis: 2033 - We create AI. Sentient robots arrive, but not as our Terminator overlords or our Singularity saviors -- conscious machines are humanity's unwanted bastard children. A few are geniuses who design flying cars, beat cancer, invent teleportation, but millions of defective prototypes roll out of factories -- mentally challenged, motivationally-challenged, criminally-inclined. Legally conscious, but unhirable, these "Defectives" are shuffled through public housing and welfare assistance, straining the already overburdened back of the meager social safety net. The robots who don't end up in prison are dumped, as a last resort, into a massive landfill known as "The Pile". Humans engage in perfection of their species -- or at least the powerful and well-connected -- genetically engineering children with human and animal DNA. The failed eugenics experiment "Frankenpeople" are discarded into "The Pile" as well. The new dynasties, 'Neofeudal Lords', live in towering neon glass castles, shuttle around in pristine nanotech-enabled pods, minds and bodies full of cyberware, spending most of their time taking selfies and "optimizing their monetization schemes". A race of supermen concerned only with their own status, their prestige, their success. Where machines have become all too flawed and human, people have become flawless, perfect, cold machines. Karl Carbon is an ex-cop, dishonorably discharged from Coastlandia PD for disobeying an order to shoot an unarmed sentient humanoid. Karl is exiled to "The Pile" as a lowly social worker. There he counsels gangbanging foster-kid robots and confiscates chimera-children from deadbeat half-wolf parents. Till one day a case goes horribly sideways and Karl is drawn into a sordid conspiracy that could threaten the strained fabric of Human-Robot-Hybrid civilization -- or save it. FEATURES -15+ hours of gameplay. -An original dystopic sci-fi world and story that will (hopefully) make you question some of your core beliefs. Or at least my sanity -Tricky yet satisfying, point-n-click detective work, interspersed with tense action shootouts. -Handpainted, uber-gritty, noir futureland. Makes Mad Max and Rick Deckard crap their pants. -Endless bombardment of witty one-liners from hardboiled cyberpunk.

I accept the challenge. I’m taking you down.

Also, I call out @knokelmaat as promised, if you yet live for the game.

Considering the Switch 2 (with those pretty joystick well covers to protect from drift, omg) and the Ryzen Z2 Go announcements, the low cost and availability of Steam Deck & parity level APU machines for purchase now, and the giant 1080p gaming install base represented by current gen consoles, it sure seems like low spec & 1080p gaming is going to have a pretty sunny future. I am hoping this gives small and medium sized development teams a chance to show up what is left of AAA gaming. What are your favorite low spec gaming setups right now? I'm enjoying a 5700g APU system the most these days. Mainstream wise, I've been playing Elden Ring and Injustice 2 and Vampire Survivors. The last Indie I played is this beat-em-up / horde survival game [An American Werewolf in LA](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2614640/An_American_Werewolf_in_LA/) which was pretty cool.
