It’s a big dish as there’s 2kg of carbohydrates there and celery salt isn’t as strong flavoured as sea salt.

Are things like Taro and Cassava readily available in Germany? If so then I’d recommend Sop Sop.

Can you not get life guidance, community and inclusion without having to believe in the supernatural?

I remember when I first started working full time. The exhaustion is real. It doesn’t ever really go away but you will eventually learn to live with it.

I just prefer Lemmy. I started exploring Lemmy about 6 months before the API fiasco. The content on Lemmy has just kept improving since.

Lol my country is falling to the fascists. I may as well move to a country that has already fallen to the fascists.

I unironically love the description of one of the most successful and influential works of art ever created as a musical you once saw because your friend was in it. That’s as working class as it gets.

This was years ago. But I’ve never been much into the bars and clubs scene. I remember at the time just feeling isolated and alone. I didn’t like spending 8-12 hours every day without any connection to anyone. Along with an extremely high pressure work environment, I was breaking down into tears on my way home most days.

I did it to myself so I was able to open up and find ways to connect to the people around me once I changed my attitude.

I also found some solidarity. It started as just a few complaints about how things were run but eventually I joined the union who helped me recoup a bunch of stolen wages.

Really insightful comment. I did not understand OPs perspective at all but it feels like you’ve hit the nail on the head.

When I first joined the work force I had this idea that ‘I was there to do a job not make friends.’ but that attitude made me miserable

Perhaps if you are able, consider volunteering? It feels a lot better than anything you can consume and helps build a routine with clear purpose that can help some people with anxiety.

What do we owe to each other? For coexistence without inherent meaning in an afterlife, is the only source of moral good the social contract that we’ve made with each other to coexist peacefully? What are the bounds of that contract? What are the terms of our coexistence?

Local libraries are a great way to substitute your entertainment budget for something more affordable. What’s more, if you volunteer and help out you’ll make a whole lot of connections who can help you back.

We do have that here. All our food comes from one of only three grocery brands. Two of which make up 90% of the market. There was a government commission into the cost of groceries but nothing has really been happened other than one CEO quitting under public pressure. But then again eggs are only $AUD 5.19/dozen so maybe it worked more than we realised.

What film, show or game that is not necessarily 'underated' didn't have the level of social impact it deserved.
What's the antithesis of Arrested Development, Firefly or The Big Lebowski? Those may never have 'found their audience' but over time seemed to recognised by everyone. What are the deep cuts that you liked but it feels like everyone has completely forgotten they even existed.
