Cryptocurrencies are a tool, similar to how money is a tool. You can’t blame money itself for all the scummy shit done using it, similarly for cryptocurrencies.
Now whether it’s about their impact to energy consumption is a whole other deal that I too dislike about it, but it’s a really good anonymous funding tool without being under the influence of payment brokers.

I do have my fair share of disagreements towards her opinions, but if she can talk openly on a platform without being silenced, that platform’s likely a place with just the lack of censorship that I want.
I used to run a news bot on my profile for my community, but some people PM’d me to mark my profile as bot. I also personally use my account so I don’t want my other post/comments to be seen as bot activity; and my instance did not permit creation of a second account for the bot only, what should I do to keep the bot running without having my profile marked as bot?
Instance admins can also perform moderation actions, and lemmy.ml is known for being on the heavier side for that.
