This is one thing I don’t get for the complaints about EV’s: Drag and towing. You have the same losses in ICE, just that the ICE powerplant is so much worse ‘before’ the drive

some good comments here, I’d just add two things:

• be genuine in your posts
• don’t post to lots of communities at the same time - I will ban posters if I see 3 or more posts landing on my instance

I’m currently a Site/Processing manager that dabbles in data, got there through beekeeping. I got a summer job working for a beekeeper (over 30 years. ago now) while doing a BSc in organic chemistry and never went back to uni - I was planning to go into lab work/food science in the dairy industry.

All sorts:

• Cat & Dog in SE Asia
• Horse, Donkey, Zebra, Crocodile, Sheep’s brain in Europe
• Kangaroo, Emu, Ostrich, Possom, Rabbit, Cricket, Goat, Huhu grub, almost all offal? etc in New Zealand
• Something I have no idea what it was in Russia

Edit:

• Moose and reindeer in Northern Europe
• Lots of seafood at home in NZ, both raw and cooked

Then all they need to do is spin up an instance of mastodon on any random VPS and scrape away if they really want to get the data.

But the 1,000,000 odd mastodon users would pale to their user base

Me too, the a few other people joined, and now I feel obliged to keep it running

I like that front page, nice for a ‘smaller instance’ that has a specific target. I should steal it for no.lastname.nz

but it is just a simple vote count/time decay, no consideration given to what you have interacted with in the past, ie the “algorithm” on other platforms
