Generative ai is just an advanced chat bot, a toy that uses too much power to be efficient.
My personal experience is that any output has to be double checked and edited. It would be better to just do whatever I asked it to do from the beginning. When it can fact check itself and cite sources, then it might become useful.
An ai that can comb through vast amounts of data and give an output of specific data relevant to the question presented than a generative ai might be useful. But it can’t analyze data very well at the current moment. It hallucinates too much.
I’m all for better public transit.
But for those of us who don’t live in a city, it’s not an option. I live about a five minute walk from my nearest neighbor, and a 20 minute drive from work. I’m not in a neighborhood or apartment. They could not feasibly build a rail system to service me and the millions of others who live like I do.
Busses are an option but then my commute would start hours earlier, and they would not pay for themselves where I live. Or I would be paying a very high fair.
Just build a rail system is not the solution.
It’s easier on your neck to look side to side than it is up and down. So to get more screen real estate it makes more sense to go horizontal. Anecdotally, I constantly have two documents or a document and a web page open next to each other on one monitor. The landscape framing works really well for that.
