Yeah. I did it exactly once, on vacation, while I didn’t have internet connection/didn’t want to waste the rest of my data, and wanted to import photos to my MacBook to edit them. It was fast enough on the Lightning connector.

This is a complete non-issue especially since faster hardware would probably be more expensive. Apple has enough actual issues that are more important such as repairs, RAM pricing, sideloading, …

I assume you’re talking about the iOS feature, which is pretty new, and they have their own photo selector UI which has existed before that. They probably just didn’t make it work well with limited access yet, Signal has a lot of small UX warts in general when it comes to system integration.

Signal is much more polished and less fragile than Matrix, but is pretty barebones especially in terms of features for large communities. Matrix additionally has a browser client and many non-Electron desktop clients. It’s really close and depends on the use case imo. For personal messages I think I prefer Signal, for communities Matrix.

I was talking about Telegram. Syncing messages between devices has always been possible on Signal, just not the ones from before you connected the extra device.

Additionally, E2E chats don’t sync between devices (and iirc you can’t use them on desktop at all), and group chats can’t be encrypted at all.

Yup. Chatbots can in every case be replaced by a knowledgebase articles/a wiki, and a self-service portal. Give me those and a support email in case I do need to speak with a real person. I don’t under any circumstances want to talk with a chatbot.

I’m pretty sure the overhead of a web renderer is considerably more than any analytics library loaded in the app unless it’s particularly bad code.
