Damn! I cannot get that imagery out of my mind; it’s suddenly seared onto my minds eye.

Well done

@ArtemisApp is an app in beta right now by @harriet

As for lemmy. There is a lot to parse. It involves supporting tiananmen square massacre. Being kicked out of Reddit’s r/socialism for being too much for them in a militant way. That sub has pointed to many instances of support for genocide, how Russia is better off with Putin and how they’re defending their countries by killing any dissent. They’re known as tankies for their pro-tiananmen stance and how that saved China as a country.

Many defenders of lemmy say if that bothers you, just avoid their original instance or ones influenced/administered by them; but that both requires you to be aware of everything about them and all the lemmy instances, and it requires you to know that the instance you join has no further development by the creators of lemmy. Who updates the code? Who is the developer of this instance, and do they accept further stuff from the originators of this part of fedi.

Follow the rabbit hole

Lemmy is a community led content aggregator similar Reddit. Mastodon is a microblogging platform similar to twitter.

Kbin combines the functionality of both and federates with both. Think of it as twidder or rettit. Insert a smash up yourself.

Lemmy was created by a couple pro-China pro-Putin “communists” and one of them is full on genocide of Uyghurs is not happening because they do not consider them people.

Kbin was created by someone who wanted a place for friends.

Do with that information what you will.

Okay, yeah. There is the cesspool there too, but we’re comparing nuclear bombs to rotten apples here.

They totally miss that kbin federates with lemmy and mastodon whereas Lemmy doesn’t microblog. Also, the list 4chan as a Reddit alternative and 4chan is a cesspool.

You think you would get to live in the same place with no one knowing you won the $1B lottery? Interesting.

Me, I would go to a top law firm and see a senior partner about getting out of being publicized. Have them set up sale of property and disconnect my phone lines and internet accounts after creating new unknown ones. I would have the lawyers present the ticket for me through various layers of holding companies and trusts, but I would be a ghost for awhile. The legal team would make sure all family members got some money with a nice non disclosure agreement. Immediate family would have my contact information with a request to never disclose. All money Would be dispersed between several low fee brokerages where I would invest in a combination of treasury backed securities, short term CDs, total stock market ETFs, and cash would be dispersed between several high interest savings accounts. I would be unreachable for 6 months while News died down.

I did, it shortened it when I hit add comment. If you press on my @ it should go to mastodon. At least from my end it does.

Look up kbin enhancement suit KES. They have android, iOS and Mac that I know of. Simple to add and they’re implementing a lot of features

Not a rumor, just they announced it. Cash for high profile posts. Kinda like Elon paying all that cash to human rights trafficker, rapist, and all around disgusting human Andrew Tate, for bringing in advertising revenue one day before announcing that they have lost over 50% of advertisers on their platform.

All the other 3rd party apps shut down at the same time yesterday

Reddit is supposed to block api access to anyone not in a contract with them. This is why all the apps stopped working early yesterday. Reddit had to turn access on to any app that is staying. That is why this is weird. Unless all these apps are in deals with Reddit.

They’re working on the kbin api stuff right now. It’sa priority. Also, check out Artemis magazine on kbin

When the API shut off early, Apollo dev u/iamthatis (@ChristianSelig@mastodon.social) revoked his token so I cannot see any of this; but I’m wondering if reddit isn’t pulling a silent reversal of this to stem the bleeding of users and content. There is a lot of useful stuff that has been deleted. The AMA staff resigning and all the stuff migrating to fedi. No matter how much f-u/spez tries to shout “This is fine”; the building is still burning all around him.

Bet they left turned access back on.

There is a bar at the top of the feed where you can switch how your feed is shown.

How to delete Reddit and not have stuff return.
I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff on issues removing their Reddit and sudden returns of everything after deleting. People need to understand a couple things: 1. Basic reddit delete only covers the last 1000 posts and no more 2. You need to use a script that makes access of Reddit’s api and pushift. There are few different ones on git but I’ll plug [Reddit-purger](https://github.com/redowul/reddit-purger) because they have the sense to write out what everyone needs to do after that. 3. [Then you need to request that all your account information is removed from pushift.](https://www.reddit.com/r/pushshift/comments/10yj803/removal_request_form_please_put_your_removal/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) If you do not do that, a copy of everything is accessible.
