The android app βConnectβ lets you block all content from an instance, including comments from users from those instances when they comment on content on other instances
Not currently. Itβs a much requested feature, but the devs arenβt working on it yet, and no idea whether itβs going to be prioritized in the future.
Some apps are implementing it though, and there are browser plugins (tampermonkey scripts) achieving it as well: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/469297-block-lemmy-instances (using that myself to block lemmynsfw.com)

If youβre an instance admin you can defederate from the instance in question. No user from that instance can interact with your instance anymore and vice-versa.
Requires setting up oneβs own instance tho.
Thank you I think this might be the best way to go.
If you have a reasonable cause and itβs a smaller instance youβd like to defederate from, you can try messaging your instance admin to see how they feel about it. They may happily oblige if they donβt think the instance is contributing anything of value.
edit: not sure how this works regarding the users of that instance, if their comments and posts are blocked as well.
