I think any public forum on the internet without some degree of limitation devolves into idiocy and hatred.
Every community with “zero censorship” rapidly turns into nazi-infested shithole.
Yeah. No “censorship” typically just tells hate mongers that they’re free to be hateful with zero consequences.

Nazis love being able to be complete assholes without consequences. They flock to any forum that protects them.
I feel like Nostr is neat in theory… but all it’ll do is bolster and embolden hateful people who want to spew their hateful views onto the net. I prefer the Fediverse. The glory of that is that you can literally go find an instance where somebody shares your views… or even better make your own! Zero censorship! You’ll probably get black-listed by other instances though.
I hear you on this and was thinking about it similarly. I just started diving in to Nostr a bit more. The user has the option to join relays that filter or permit users/content. In this way it is similar to joining a user journey in joining a federated sever for the purpose of finding your community. Except less intuitive to do so. IMO the user experience with the fediverse starts small and gets larger as their network grows, with nostr, its the opposite big then small
For those of us who are not as technically minded or knowledgeable … you should mention and talk a bit more about what Nostr is.
