I am curious how people find new communities or if there is a list of communities somewhere as they are generated?

I use Jerboa and other then the ones I initially added via the search tool using keywords of my interests, I only seem to find new instances when someone mentions in it in a comment or when I stumble upon one in my Local instance feed.

How do you discover new communities and keep up to date?

t go through the ALL feed every once and a while.

I’m subscribed to the community !newcommunities@lemmy.world .Additionally I’ll occasionally browse All, but most of the time it’s from people mentioning a new community in a discussion.

I like this community too! May be worth noting that, even though it’s located on lemmy.world, it’s not limited to mentioning communities on lemmy.world

All -> Scaled, quick check for anything interesting every week or so.

When I first started out, I just browsed through the All feed, checked the Communities page and also found some new interesting ones from various communities. You also might want to check out https://lemmyverse.net/communities

Ooh, thanks. I don’t think I have seen this before.

Only use the /all feed (top 6 hours) , block what you don’t like.

I follow the new communities and community promo feeds.

Also crossposts.

I sometimes skim top 6 hours on All. Sometimes even 1 hour.

Sometimes people recommend related communities in the comment section.

I check all/comments/new, see what people are talking about and if anything catches my eye I may subscribe

Stalk active users and see where they post.

From time to time I switch to the “All” channel
