No, nazis did it because political opposition against them, socialists and communists, were real opposition. And even Strasserists and Rohm posed a real threats of wresting the control over party from Hitler. Trump does not have to do anything because opposition against his government, both in his party and outside it, is illusory and performative. And their praxis looks like that:
