Hi there!

What are some good, european, barefoot shoes brands. I already own a pair of vivobarefoot, but their peoducts are quite expensive, so i’m looking for some more affordable options as well.

Thanks!!

p.s. if you think there is a better place to ask this, let me know :D

edit: thanks everyone for the great suggestions!

I would recommend Bohempia (made of Hemp), Groundies (beautiful), Zaqq (wide variety), Magical Shoes and Wildlings, of course. They are all European

If you don’t have a problem with second hand, I’d recommend to check out Vinted. If you live in Germany you can also check Kleinanzeigen.

I got several pairs of barefoot shoes in good condition there for relatively cheap.

I had shoes from Leguano, Wildling, Merrell (US) and vivobarefoot.

I would recommend buying used as well. Take a look at senmotic shoes. They are expensive but are also the most durable barefoot shoes I have found.

Leguano is very comfy and super quality, but comes with a high price.

Groundies are comfy and look really cool - people don’t notice its barefood shoes and the price is reasonable.

Ballop are the most comfortable shoes I ever had, but for my taste they are not as beautiful as leguanos and groundies. Price is reasonable.

Check out revivo for cheaper(ish) vivos that would have been landfill. Dunno much about European brands other than that

Look into Aylla for good quality leather shoes (buy once, cry once) and I also enjoy my Freet shoes for when I want/need sporty shoes.

For the Aylla shoes I would recommend investing in some shoe trees, because the leather will wrinkle without those because the shoes are so flexible.

And for non-european: Jim Green barefoot. Bit less flexible than the Aylla’s, but amazing quality at a very reasonable price. I don’t think you can find more durable barefoot style shoes.

I like my Ahinsa shoes a lot, but they might be around the same price point as Vivo.

I also have Ahinsa shoes and they’re great.

I make my own DIY huaraches like this:

extremely comfortable, you can make it with any old slipper lying around and some paracord, lasts for 6 months to a year, depending on the quality of the sandal base.

adjust it to exactly your size that fits perfectly and then you can sew the knots so that all the dimensions stay the same.

takes me maybe 5 minutes to make each pair, and then 5 minutes for the sewing of the knots so I never have to readjust them, costs nearly nothing.

Freet make durable barefoot shoes out of recycled materials for usually a pretty affordable price. They’re made in the UK.

I’ve seen some bad reviews on /r/barefootrunning, but I’ve had very good experiences with xero shoes.

My gf has leguano and is also happy with them.

I love my xeros, but they are US based right? In Colorado?

Just keep in mind that Colorado isn’t a state that voted for him.

Oh shit for some reason I thought they were based in hungary, but looks like you’re right
