Are they posts on !random@kbin.social? Because as best as I can tell, that seems to be a community that exists solely for the purpose of sharing spam. Every single post I can see on it is a spam link, not always from the same domain, but from a rotation of a few shady-looking domains.
It’s the “catch all” community on kbin. Basically any post on kbin that isn’t sent to a specific group ends up there, which is why it has so much spam
That makes sense, but the kind of spam that’s there isn’t like, lazy people throwing whatever at the wall, or people self-promoting their YouTube channels, or anything like that. It seems to be made up 100% of malicious spam posted by bots.
I mean, the spam is deliberate. What I’m saying is that it’s probably not targeted at that group specifically. Before the spam bots came along, it used to be where you would find mastodon posts etc on kbin. But now, due to the lack of moderation features in kbin, it’s simply flooded with spam bots and the original point of the group is lost
I had to block that community
