Sorry about your cat, but imagine how fuckin awful asklemmy would be if everyone did this. It’d be intolerable and would kill the community in months.

Please remove this and post it elsewhere

I get a hint of NIMBY here

Right? Initially I figured this might be a mod, but it just seems like someone who wants to moan at someone for posting something they don’t like.

If only they could do something to view something else, and get on with their day. Like, I dunno, maybe scroll past?

Where do you recommend?

I’m not sure there is a community to post this to on Lemmy that will get the traction you need to save your cat. I hope I’m wrong. Sorry you and your cat are going through this. Best of luck!

/r/assistance on Reddit is a very well moderated sub. They have strict rules and procedures to prevent abuse. I moderate another sub that sometimes sends people there because we just aren’t equipped to do what they do.

That’s the kind of thing I was hoping to find, but I didn’t have much luck.

Lemmy is still young, so it’s understandable that it doesn’t yet have the infrastructure, but maybe this could prompt us to do something like that?

I absolutely agree that such a forum needs moderation to avoid abuse. Where I’ve been asked, I’ve provided what I can to back up what I’m claiming.

This is the internet though, so I get it. I’m just trying to do what’s best for my boy.

For what it’s worth, I appreciate you replying.

This is a living nightmare for us and we’re doing whatever we can to save our baby.

Thank you for your comment.

Hi friend, I understand. I commented because it is a sad and touching situation you shared. I hope you find a great way to get all the resources you need for Bernie. I feel like the system is being tested in a way. I’m glad you asked on asklemmy. I’m not sure anyone has done that and there might be some interesting discussion about it. You might find the advocates you need through your posts and we may find an answer to “ where should I post this” for your situation.

Your comments are really kind, and today, that means a lot.

Thank you.

I really love what Lemmy is becoming, and sure, if this prompts discussion around what’s ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ to post, then I’m happy to be a part of it.

I hope that my boy can feature in future posts.

Maybe you can post it in a pet related sub? I really like your cat but I can’t do anything because I’m a student and I probably need a go fund me too lol.

I’ve posted it in a few places, and we’re seeing a steady uptick in donations.

To be clear though, I’m not expecting donations from my posts, but even just a reshare is appreciated.

I appreciate you replying though, thank you.
